Our state-of-the-art machines comes from Motor City located in Detroit, Michigan. We are family-friendly and our team is made up of expert car wash professionals who truly care.

High Line Car Wash originally opened in 1953 back when West Chelsea was mostly factories, but the small brick building proudly stood right there on the corner of 24th and 10th Avenue much the same way it does today. My grandfather started operating the car wash in the 1960s when the area was known as “gasoline Alley” named for its car washes, gas stations and auto body shops. I grew up watching my grandfather work the car wash from the time I was very young.
Today, the High Line Car Wash is sandwiched between two chic galleries and surrounded by tourists and posh restaurants! The neighborhood has changed tremendously throughout the years, but our commitment to clean, dry and shiny cars has never wavered! I took over the car wash in 2015 after my grandfather passed away and it’s not just a business to me. It’s a family legacy, filled with sentiment and heart.
My grandfather was committed to making our customers happy above all else, and so am I. That’s why I spent countless hours trying to configure a way to squeeze in the amount of equipment which would normally live in a wash tunnel twice as long, but this is New York City! We are small, but mighty and make the most of our space. The manufacturer didn’t think I could fit all of these big machines in such a compact tunnel, but we did and the result has been nothing short of extraordinary.
